Quick Update

Our board is hard at work to prepare for the upcoming season. We will be ready to begin the week of June 28th. We are finalizing preparation this week, and you will receive notifications very soon.
As you can understand, we face different challenges due to COVID-19. Please note that all kids need to have their own glove, helmet and bat. There will be no sharing allowed.
Thank you all, look forward to meeting you all soon.

Press Release

To all Little League Ontario District 1 Players, Parents, Umpires, Volunteers, Sponsors and Fans.Welcome to Step 1 of our Little League Ontario District 1 Re-opening. Below are the re-opening dates set-out by each Little League program in our District. As we have all navigated through this unprecedented pandemic, we have all had to make some very hard decisions that have kept us from playing baseball and supporting the children in our communities. On behalf of Little League District 1, l would like to thank all of our Little League presidents, executives, umpires, coaches, players, volunteers and parents for your patience, leadership, and understanding. Our baseball season has changed, and many of our Little League communities around the District continue to feel the tremendous impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, it has not stopped us as volunteers from continuously working on a plan for returning to the field and providing a Little League experience for our players. As each league begins their phased approach to reopening, we ask and highly encourage that everyone adheres to the guidelines set forth by their respective leagues. We fully understand that not everyone will agree with the guidelines put in place and that is okay. All we are asking, is for the hour or so you spend at the diamond, to please follow the guidelines so we can continue to offer children the opportunity to play baseball again. The safety and well-being of all our participants, volunteers, families and friends is always paramount, and today, it is more important than ever to think about those things off-the-field that make the Little League experience special – teaching life lessons; being kind and gracious and supporting your local community. We are starting our come back to be stronger than ever. We will rally around our communities, welcome all of life’s challenges, and leave a legacy of time spent together at all our Little League fields across the District. We are all in this together and we will all get through this together.Your local league and their websites can provide you with more information on their plans to re-open. Again, I truly appreciate the patience, understanding, and flexibility of all of you, our volunteers, players, and parents during this time. Stay SafeSteven Bagnell – District Administrator – DA-D1-ON

A Message From Our President.

My name is Martin Talbot and I am the new President of Stoney Creek Little League (SCOLL). I started volunteering with SCOLL 6 years ago. Started as a coach, then a convenor and the last 3 years as Treasurer.

Due to Covid, our past board of director members have other commitments and will not be returning. This leaves SCOLL in a difficult position for the upcoming season.
Currently we have a President and a Vice-President. Thank you to Tim Simmons stepping up in this role. However we cannot run SCOLL with 2 people.
So we need your help. Some of you of have already reached out to me and thank you. but we need more people for the following positions. Secretary, Treasurer, Uniform/Equipment Manager, Field Maintenance Manager, Convenors. These positions need to be filled before we can even look into getting coaches for the kids.
From there, we can strategically plan for the upcoming season.
We want to begin the week of June 28 and run until possibly Labour Day Weekend. Of course we cannot play games, we will look at running practices and if games become a possibility, we will look at running some kind of playoff at the end of the season.
Again, this is only possible with help from you the parents.
If interested in being a board member please send me an email, (scollprez@gmail.com).

The plan would be to hold a zoom call Thursday night at 7pm and discuss some of the positions and what that entails.
Thank you all, Let’s play Ball

Martin Talbot

President Stoney Creek Little League

Executive Committee Announcement

Hi everyone,

We have an announcement and a request.

Effective immediately, Martin Talbot will be assuming the role of President, and Tim Simmons will be assuming the role of Vice President.

We are looking for volunteers for all other roles of the Stoney Creek Optimist Little League Executive Committee.

Some roles available are: Secretary, Treasurer, Field Equipment Manager.

We are also looking for Conveners.

If you are interested in any of these roles,

please contact Martin at scollprez@gmail.com, or

Tim Simmons at scollsiofficer@gmail.com.

We will provide further updates on what we can or cannot do this season as soon as we can.

These will be posted on our Website’ Update Page and on Facebook.

We are currently looking for sponsors for the 2021 season and beyond, this will help us offset the costs of running the league, we are a non for profit league and so all the extra costs related to covid have a large effect on the league and how it functions, we still had many costs last season to keep the park maintained even though we had no baseball and therefore no revenue coming in.

If you would like more information please reach out to Kevin at president.stoneycreekll@gmail.com
